Furthermore, Korsuva is a first-in-class KOR agonist that targets KORs located in the peripheral nervous system and on immune cells.

Investors could be responding to the company announcing that it had received the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for its Korsuva injection. All in all, the injection will be used to treat moderate to severe pruritus associated with chronic kidney disease in adults undergoing hemodialysis. Moreover, the company will be working closely with its commercial partner, Vifor Pharma to launch Korsuva in the U.S. in the coming months.
